From production to your property: The journey of your home!
04. 11. 2024From planning and preparation to final on-site installation, Modulos home transport is a complex process that requires care and precision. Photos of our homes being placed on foundations are taking people's breath away – How is it possible that there's no damage during this complex process? Thanks to our experience, we've developed an extremely durable structure and a reliable system to safely transport our homes and install them on the chosen plot. Join us to see the journey from the first idea to the final realisation!
It starts on paper and ends on your plot of land
When you decide to buy a Modulos home, the journey to your home begins long before the home literally ""lands"" on your property. The first step is always a detailed assessment of the conditions of the site where your home will be located.
It's not advisable to leave anything to chance, which is why we always double check. First, our tradesmen visit the site to check accessibility, slopes and, in short, any possible obstacles that might arise during transportation and placement of the home.
A crane technician also visits the site for a thorough inspection to determine the type and size of crane required. The cranes we use vary in load capacity and method of movement – from wheeled to crawler cranes. Their selection depends on the specifics of the terrain and the weight of the module.
To give you an idea – for the placement of modules over 10 tonnes, we mostly use cranes with a lifting capacity of 100-230 tonnes. Every detail is carefully planned to ensure that the transport and assembly process itself runs smoothly and without complications.
Transport and loading: Diligence first
Once everything is planned, it's time for the actual transport. Loading of Modulos homes takes place directly at our premises, where the home is prepared for transport. Unlike other companies, we do not use lifting beams for loading, which are a big disadvantage for lifting and handling.
Our structure is so strong that we can afford to hang the home using four special cables attached to temporary points on the module structure. This method ensures that the home is not twisted or otherwise damaged during handling.
Our team of experts carefully oversees every step – from attaching the rope, to tensioning it, to lifting the home with a crane. When handling such large objects, safety is key. Each of our workers is equipped with a helmet and reflective vest and are carefully trained in procedures that minimise the risk of accidents. All moorings are carefully checked – we make sure that the module is secured during loading so that it cannot rotate or move in any way. Done, let's head to the lot!
Unloading on site: We can do the seemingly impossible
Once the home arrives on site, the next phase begins – unloading and settling the home on the prepared foundation. An important factor for successful unloading is a properly prepared terrain. An untreated muddy surface, a slope, or an untrimmed clear passage may present complications that could slow down or even complicate the process.
However, even here we're prepared for various challenges – including transporting over another already erected home (at that moment the crane operator cannot see the home and is only following the team's instructions – can you imagine?), handling loads near power lines or settling the module 30 metres from the crane, as in the last photo.
Before unloading, the crane operator prepares the machine for action. While smaller cranes up to 100 tonnes take approximately 30-45 minutes to prepare, larger machines need more time (often up to 2 hours). Everything depending on the number of modules and the complexity of the terrain. That's it. The home is in place. Just hook it up to the pre-prepared utility networks and you're all set to move in!
